American Worldwide Group (AIG) has appointed Gordon Browne (pictured) as world head of specialty.

Efficient June 11, the appointment marks Browne’s return to AIG. He’s making the swap from Allianz, the place he has been world head of specialty since April 2023. Reporting to Jon Hancock, government vice chairman and chief government of worldwide insurance coverage at AIG, Browne can even be a part of the worldwide insurance coverage management workforce.

In his new remit, Browne will oversee the worldwide technique for AIG’s specialty companies, which span world marine, aviation, credit score traces, and power & building.

Browne expressed enthusiasm about his AIG comeback, saying: “Rejoining AIG at this thrilling time is a unprecedented alternative. I’m wanting ahead to working with Jon Hancock and essentially the most proficient world workforce within the trade to drive the corporate’s continued progress and ship important technical experience and differentiated worth to our purchasers and dealer companions.”

The incoming world specialty head has over 20 years of trade expertise in each the US and the UK. He held a number of senior management roles throughout his earlier eight-year stint at AIG. These embody world head of power & building and head of North America specialty.
